Representatives from Keiser University including Belinda Keiser, Vice Chancellor of Community Relations and Student Advancement; Leslie Kristof, Port St. Lucie Campus President; Linda Fitzpatrick, Director of Strategic Alliance; and Leslie Haviland, Director of Student Services were delighted to present Kylee Fuhr, the St. Lucie County School District’s Homeless Liaison, with over $8,000 in supplies. The items included over 450 backpacks, 355 pocket folders, 273 spiral notebooks, 1,800 free haircut offers, 187 bottles or sticks of glue, and much more.
With many students enrolled in free and reduced meal programs, countless parents are unable to provide the basic school supplies that children need to learn effectively. In addition, schools across the country lack the funding to purchase necessary supplies. In answer to this dilemma, Keiser University’s Kits for Kids school supply drive is making a significant impact on the learning experience of thousands of students throughout the state.
