What started as a single handmade dress on a Vietnam vacation has turned into a personalized fashion venture built between Paris and Ho Chi Minh City.

Dress & Design Global was founded in Paris in 2022 by Telisabeth Lam, who built out the company's portfolio and website over the following years. The idea traces back to a trip to Vietnam, where Lam had a dress custom handmade and found the experience markedly different from the shopping options available to her in Paris.

That contrast stuck with her. She has spent the years since trying to bring the same concept online, betting that personalized fashion can mean something different to each woman who tries it, more choice, more room for creative expression, a personal style not bound by standard sizing.

From Portfolio to Atelier

In 2025, Dress & Design added its own tailoring atelier in Ho Chi Minh City, moving the business from a website-based concept into a company with its own production base. The company launched its public presence on social platforms just last week, marking a new phase after years of quieter development.

The approach positions Dress & Design apart from the mass production that dominates much of the apparel market. Rather than offering a fixed range of sizes and styles, the model is built around personalization, with each piece made to the individual rather than pulled from a standard run.

Lam has documented the company's story and process in more detail through an introduction video and a longer video series covering the brand's background, giving a fuller look at how the idea moved from a single vacation purchase to an operating atelier.

For now, the company is focused on building out its presence and its production base in Ho Chi Minh City while continuing to develop the online side of the business from Paris. More on the brand and its collections can be found at their site, dressndesign.com.
