ByteDance is spending $39 billion to build its largest data center outside China at the Pecém port complex in Ceará, Brazil, backed by a $2 billion wind power deal with Casa dos Ventos. The facility will serve TikTok's operations outside Brazil, the US, Europe and China, and Brookfield is reportedly circling a separate, similarly sized project in the same region.
