Electro Rent expands its partnership with VIAVI Solutions, giving North American customers the ability to purchase new test instruments alongside existing rental and used equipment options.
Electro Rent, the global leader in test and measurement equipment rental solutions and services, today announced a distribution agreement with VIAVI Solutions, a global leader in communications test and measurement and optical technologies.
This agreement enables Electro Rent to sell new VIAVI test instruments in North America, including fiber optics, optical transport, antenna, and wireless field equipment. The move matters because it simplifies procurement for engineering teams who previously had to source new VIAVI instruments through separate channels. Now, Electro Rent customers can purchase new VIAVI equipment for their testing needs directly, in addition to the rental and used purchase options for VIAVI equipment already available through Electro Rent.
The timing of this expanded partnership reflects a broader shift in how communications infrastructure teams manage their test equipment budgets. As network deployments accelerate and technology life cycles shorten, flexible acquisition models have become a practical necessity rather than a convenience. Teams rolling out fiber optic installations or upgrading wireless field infrastructure often face unpredictable project timelines. Having a single source for new purchases, rentals, and pre-owned instruments gives procurement managers more control over both capital and operating expenditures.
